Damian commenting on the new Persian rug:  "Daddy, this carpet is ugly.  It's supposed to have lots of colours.  Like rainbows, spaceships and Star Wars Lego Yoda colour."

Hmmm.

Recent quotes:

D. commenting on why he should get extra time with the tablet computer while on the toilet:  "I only like bonuses.  Bonuses are perfect for me."

M. when he likes something:  "tickle.  tickle.  tickle" normally while pointing to whatever he wants.  Interchangeable with "car.  car.  car."

M waking up Mummy:  "Mammon, go!  Mammon, go!"

The shenanigans continued this week with D. After coaching him that it is okay to hug girls but not kiss them at daycare, he walked into daycare to find his little friend Charlotte waiting for him (with a big smile on her face). He walked up and I overheard him say "Hi Charlotte, can I tickle you?". She said "Yes!" and they proceeded to run away and play.

Than as I was leaving another little girl's mother said "Hi are you Damian's father?" Then proceeded to tell me about how her daughter Reece told her and that "She had slept in D.'s bed at nap time". Apparently the little girl's father was mortified! The story goes that they are playing a bed swapping game in daycare at nap time and the kids all shuffle around in each other's bed. I mentioned D. had been kissing another girl and the mother was choked - "two-timing my daughter!" Funny times for parents and kids these days.

And on the way home, D. announces to us "Do you know I'm almost 5."  No son, you turned 4 last month, but I guess that's what he's telling the kids.

This week's daycare feedback: D spent day trying to kiss his favourite girl, while M spent day teething and trying to bite....anyone. Yin/Yang?

Christmas presents

Gearing up for Christmas:  Some wrapped gifts arrived - one for D. and one for M.  I placed them under the tree as an experiment to see how long they would last.  The outcome:  about 6 seconds from D. seeing them.  He latched on and asked if he could open them immediately.  I told him we had to wait until Christmas.  His response:  "I can't wait that long."  Conclusive evidence in the experiment:  Patience of a 3-year old confirmed at 6 seconds.

Update:  He has now grabbed the present and announced he is going to "hold it until Christmas Day."  It is December 13.

Blink Dancing

D. announced "his eyes wanted to dance" while we were driving around last weekend.  I told him that was a good idea and asked him if I could watch.  He started blinking and rolling his eyeballs around.  He said it was blink dancing.
